CHEP
Creating various piece of campaign content and marketing assets for a global logistics business.
Industry: Logistics
Category: B2B
Years: 2023-2024
Overview
I worked with a studio team on creating campaigns for CHEP, a sustainable pallet provider, the blue ones you may have seen around! My input was generally to produce required artwork from their internal marketing teams which adhered to strict brand guidelines and provide insight and support into the campaigns ran through the UPP B2B agency.
Focusing on digital design, I was heavily involved in creating content for LinkedIn, as well as producing digital brochures, videos and templates for CMS platforms.
Creating custom illustration for the annual Gender Pay Gap report.
For the 2024 report, CHEP’s internal PR staff decided that this years report should have a more feminine design, as the business, which typically had a higher percentage of male staff, had recently made huge improvements in their gender equality initiatives.
Keeping to the brand guidelines, which involved using linear illustrations and a blue tonal colour pallet. The design was created, which used these elements to provide a light and contemporary aesthetic. The illustrations ran throughout the pages, not only for consistency, but to decorate the hard, statistical copy.
Helping achieve more successful marketing communications through a UX process.
The existing Pardot templates for CHEPs marketing teams were not having positive results, with very few customers actually opening their emails.
It was obvious to see early on why this was, the templates had been created by their internal staff – none of them are designers! To solve this issue, I conducted small sessions to gather insights into what the teams wanted to achieve, what they thought wasn’t working and what was working. The design part of this project was relatively easy to achieve, however taking into consideration all the client requirements needed discussing and planning.
After the remote sessions had been completed and the information captured, detailed documents explaining the design and functionality of the templates were shared, highlighting the workshop outcomes incorporated into the designs.
Editing a fun, lighthearted campaign video with a limited budget.
The Pass it On campaign was aimed at highlighting the sustainable practice of the business. The pallets get passed on from business to business in a circular economy model.
Hiring out a studio, we filmed CHEP staff (and a few of the agency staff, the customers didn’t know that particular bit) on a green screen. The creative thread of the video, was the pallets would be passed from scene to scene as they would be passed to the customer.
The edit was full of challenges, such as matching up the angles of the pallets and effectively isolating models wearing luminous green jackets, oops!
